The Old Press: a one-bedroom lodge for two at The Firs

The Old Press is attached to the Tithe Barn, where apples were once pressed for cider. It's an open-plan lodge for two with a superking bed, and one of only two lodges here with a bath as well as a shower.

What isn't here
Worth knowing before you book:
No television. None of our lodges have one — that's deliberate, though the wifi is good throughout
No dishwasher
No dogs. We don't accept them anywhere on the site
The washing machine and dryer are in the Boot Room, a separate building shared with other guests

Who it suits
Two people who want a bath. Between the bath, the shower and the wood-fired hot tub outside, there are three separate ways to get into hot water here — either excessive or exactly right, depending on your view.
The building
The Old Press is attached to the barn, and it has had a mixed history. There is evidence it was used for printing a children's magazine in the 1970s, and we believe that during the 1980s it was where apples were pressed, back when this was a fruit farm.
The name covers both.
