— OUR STORY

"We cannot imagine being anywhere else, and we hope you'll understand why."

— Amy & Alison, The Firs Suffolk

We moved here in 2017 and set about turning the old farm buildings and grounds into a place for guests — somewhere to enjoy this quiet, tranquil corner of Suffolk. Eight years on, it has become more than we ever imagined.

The Firs sits on four acres in the village of Cratfield, halfway between the Suffolk coast and the Broads. The buildings — the stables, the cowshed, the old apple press, the tithe barn — were here long before us, and we've worked carefully to keep their character while making them somewhere you'd genuinely want to wake up.

It's still a working garden, still home to our hens, and still the quiet, slow place we fell for. We believe a Suffolk weekend should feel like more than just a stay — and we've built The Firs around exactly that.

We feel privileged that you're considering us, and we hope to welcome you soon.
