The Bushel: a safari tent for four at The Firs

Sleeps 4 · 2 sleeping areas · 1 bathroom · approximately 350 sq ft · Safari tent

The Bushel is a safari tent in a woodland clearing, sleeping four: a superking bed plus two singles. At around 350 sq ft it's the larger of our two safari tents, with an open-plan layout and a wood-fired hot tub sized for four to six.

Size and layout

  • Approximately 350 sq ft

  • Open-plan living space

  • One superking Hypnos cashmere bed

  • Two single beds

  • Dining table

  • One bathroom with a shower

Kitchen

  • Induction hob

  • Fridge with a small freezer compartment

  • Nespresso machine

  • No dishwasher

Heat and fire

  • Apple Pie wood-burning stove

  • Private wood-fired hot tub, sized for four to six

  • Private firepit

What isn't here

Worth knowing before you book:

  • No television. None of our lodges have one — that's deliberate, though the wifi is good throughout

  • No dishwasher

  • No dogs. We don't accept them anywhere on the site

  • The washing machine and dryer are in the Boot Room, a separate building shared with other guests

Available on request

  • Travel cot

  • Floor bed

Who it suits

A family of four, or four friends who don't mind an open-plan layout. The two single beds make it a natural fit for children. If you want two proper bedrooms and two bathrooms at the same capacity, The Stables is the alternative.

The name

We both fell in love with glamping in Suffolk in our early years together, and the memory of those holidays is part of what drew us here.

The lodge names hark back to the days when the woodland and grounds were part of a large apple farm — a bushel being the measure the apples were picked into.
