The Apple Bobber is a safari tent by the moat — canvas walls, a superking bed, a wood-burning stove and a wood-fired hot tub sized for two. It's around 250 sq ft, open plan, and closer to the water than anything else on the site.

The hot tub at The Apple Bobber is a wood-fired soaking tub, kept simple on purpose: warm, still water, with no jets and no lights.
Calm. Still water and steady heat slow you down, with no pumps or bubbles to compete with.
Quiet. Without the roar of jets, conversation stays soft and the whole site stays peaceful.
The surroundings. You can hear the moat, and with no lights in the water the night sky is yours to watch.
What isn't here
Worth knowing before you book:
No television. None of our lodges have one — that's deliberate, though the wifi is good throughout
No oven. The kitchen has two induction hobs, and you can cook on the firepit
No dishwasher
No dogs. We don't accept them anywhere on the site
The washing machine and dryer are in the Boot Room, a separate building shared with other guests

Who it suits
Two people who want the countryside close enough to hear it through the canvas. It's glamping rather than camping — proper bed, proper bathroom, a kitchen with two induction hobs — but you'll know what the weather is doing, which is rather the point.
The name
We both fell in love with glamping in Suffolk in our early years together, and the memory of those holidays is part of what drew us here.
The lodge names hark back to the days when the woodland and grounds were part of a large apple farm. An apple bobber, a bushel.
